Everyone new to Fit For Anything will have to undergo an initial consultation for health & safety reasons and to assess level of ability. To find out how Personal Training works please see also the Way of Working (WoW) page.
This Initial Consultation is a one hour session and CAN include:
Measuring height & weight to ascertain Body Mass Index (BMI)
Body measurements including waist to hip ratio
Body fat versus lean muscle composition
Blood pressure and resting Heart Rate (HR)
Oxygen consumption (Vo2) lung capacity
Postural alignment
Muscular strength and flexibility reach test
Nutritional guidance and hydration
Mental well-being
Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)
Alternatively, if you feel that you have more specific needs, you can ask for one of the two options below:
A) Fit For Anything (FFA) run fit assessment:
The run fit assessment is also a one hour session and would focus on running related things and can include:
Physical examination and bio-mechanical screening
PAR-Q and topics as within the initial consultation
Video (slow motion) analysis of your current running form, followed by discussion, advice and action
Action to correct and to improve by prescribing relevant exercises, foam rolling, running drills and so on
B) Fit For Anything (FFA) body “M.O.T.”
The body M.O.T. is a one hour session and focuses on total physical wellbeing:
Assesses total physical, functional ability to (full range of) movement
Highlights the body’s imbalances, strengths and weakness, possible niggles and/or your (re-occurring) injury
We will discuss M.O.T. results and provide the knowledge and info required to improve and fix any issues
Our support is adapted and adjusted to your own personal needs
We share our findings with you and we can devise an action training plan and also provide effective 1-2-1 personal training sessions
Corrective exercise often improves performance as it contributes towards optimisation of the length/tension relationships within your body, it improves the body’s recruitment patterns and quality of movement, it reduces inhabitation caused by impairment or pain, it increases the time to fatigue. Reduce your imbalances, reduce your risk to injury.
Consider the body “M.O.T.” especially if you are:
Having pain which stops and affects you in any form such as with sleeping, sports, going to the gym or anything you enjoy doing.
Struggling with back, neck and/or joint pain that keeps re-occurring
Not getting taken seriously by your GP, and taking ineffective pain killers
