Can you believe we are coming towards the end of November? I know that many of you are starting to look forward to the celebrations and gatherings planned throughout the festive season. This is not where I will be telling you to show total restraint, but instead hopefully offering some top tips to use December as a base for your January goals, rather than a blip in your training plan. Wouldn't it be nice to set brand new goals in January rather than the same tired resolutions that come out every year? This month's blog looks at the value of micronutrients to your nutrition plan and we also re-visit some top tips to make the most of your winter training as the weather turns colder.

If you missed it you can catch up on my review of my time at the 5th O.C.R. World Championships - the lows, highs and mud! If anyone would be interested in taking part in any events in 2019 as a new goal then please do let me know..... Behind the scenes, it has been fantastic to have interest from 3 FFA clients (so far) to participate in the 7km individual open O.C.R. event on Sunday 13th October 2019 (no qualification required) at the 6th O.C.R. World Championships in Brentwood, Essex. This is a unique chance to take part on a challenging course and earn yourself a fabulous World Championships medal!

Well done to Sarah Bennett who participated in the Watford Autumn 10K on Sunday 25th November. This is a well attended (over 100 participants for the 10K) and challenging (mainly off-road) event through Cassiobury Park and our beloved Whippendell Woods.

The long-established race raises money for Watford Mencap with donations for race entry and attracts runners of all abilities, from novices to experienced runners. In addition to the chip-timed main 10k and juniors' 3k races, the popular 1k fun run also returned for the youngest runners!
